About...

GWYN HENRY is an artist living in San Diego, California whose work includes interpretive photography, original collages created from recycled art,  and digital art.

She also creates from vintage VHS video footage and found video artifacts. In addition, she has a body of work in experimental films of dancers and improvisational movement artists.

Her art often builds on immigrating images from her videos to still prints, and utilizing those prints dismembered in collage and assemblage.

Her creations are informed by the roles played in her life by dance and music, as well as her work as a poet, writer, and dancer/dance teacher.

Graduate studies at San Diego State University examined the juncture of Politics and Art through the study of documentary and propaganda film making, and literature of African American and Native American writers.
