Where

Are They Now?

Life as a Bopkitten lasted 2 decades for Jill, after which she and husband David (original Bopcat drummer), moved to  Dallas Texas, then San Diego.

When Oklahoma roots beckoned, Jill & David returned to Oklahoma, built a new home on 5 acres of woodland in Mounds, Oklahoma, and included a house next to theirs for Jill's mother, 91 years young at the time.

Jill hosts a Facebook page for her brother, Rockin' John Henry, who passed in August, 2004. She is organizing, categorizing and digitizing Rockin' John's massive library and record collection, and promotes commemorative concerts for the Rockin' John Henry Foundation

Sue Ann and husband Cecil, sound man for the Bopcats, enjoyed the life of touring and performing on the road. But after five years this Bopkitten wanted time to explore other paths.

She operated her own business for 5 years, before becoming office manager for her daughter's business in Broken Arrow.

She is now retired, but not ready to hang up her rock & roll shoes: she still spins vinyl 45's on a turntable, and has two vintage jukeboxes full of original 45 Rock and Roll records.

She can often be heard tickling the ivoriesof the keyboard in her living room, just for her own pleasure.

She lives in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, with husband, Cecil, and their much loved Pomeranian dog, Gucci.

Gwyn left the Bopcats in 1989, after a decade-long performance career, relocating to San Diego, where she played keyboards with the classic rock band, "Avocado Moon", and keyboards and vocals with "Earth Sounds," a Native American band which performed original music.

She taught English as a second language for eight years, and directed a ballet program for women at California Center for the Arts in Escondido for 12 years.

She also founded MAE, a video art performance group. MAE's videos have shown in gallery installations and local film screenings. Gwyn's biography of a local artist, aired on San Diego public access TV's series, "Creative Concepts".

She lives with husband, Greg Richardson, in Escondido, CA where she enjoys photography, creating video art,, and being a dancing grandmother.

I've had a lively, rewarding life in the entertainment field. But my proudest accomplishments are my 44-year marriage, my three children, & five grandsons!"

-- Jill

I sometimes truly wish we were still doing it.  I enjoyed my time as a Bopkitten. Even though it was exhausting, I wouldn't have had it any other way. Working & performing with family... how many people get to do that?

--Sue Ann

I recall my Bopkitten days as a time of enormous fun... of forming new friendships with and learning from extraordinarily talented musicians,  as well as an opportunity to perform with "rock & roll stars" of my youth.  The joy of the music was always foremost.

Looking back & remembering is now almost as enjoyable  as  living it.
